Having worked as a sound mixer on over 100 commercial and narrative film productions in New York City with brands (Nike, Samsung, LinkedIn, Doritos, Everyday Health, Huawei) as well as various scripted and unscripted television series (Eurovision, Tru Tv, Globo, CBS, Oxygen Channel), award-winning short films (Six, The Epic Of Hershey, Lily In The Grinder, All Those Sunflowers, Before The Bomb, Enough, Astro Son), and feature films (The Brooklyn Banker, Tom’s Dilemma, Dark, I’m Obsessed With You, Magic Island), Daniel has always thrived in highly creative and technical work environments. As the founder of House of Quest, Daniel has transitioned into directing and producing roles, working closely with brands to translate their message into visually engaging videos (BBC Studios, Coldwell Banker, 77 Diamonds, Sherlock, Tamea International) as well as developing feature films, TV series and documentaries.
I worked with Munich-based Slashy Productions on an episode of Grenzenlos, shot in the city of Porto, for the German Sat 1 channel. I was the production sound mixer throughout, while also doubling as camera assistant, fixer and translator. We shot during a total of eight days throughout various regions and the city of Porto.
I was the production sound mixer for a Huawei competition campaign shot in Lisbon, Portugal. During the shoot we visited various locations throughout the city, keeping flexible and nimble to follow multiple contestants as they explored monuments and vistas using their Huawei phones. After spending the day with the contestants, we filmed the selection of the winners with the two juries.
I worked with the BBC Studios, through my production company, House of Quest Films, as a local producer in Portugal. I oversaw all location selections, scouting, permitting, transportation, accommodation, filming and drone authorisations, local crew and equipment hire and production logistics. The team sent by the BBC, were of course fantastic and the production could not have gone smoother.
