Willy Lowry is a Canadian journalist currently based in Arusha, Tanzania. His work from Tanzania appears in The New York Times, AJ+, CNN, BBC, Fusion and Mongabay. He started his career in Beirut, Lebanon writing for the The Daily Star and online for NOW Lebanon. He’s also worked in Israel and Palestine. Since 2011 he’s worked as a radio and television journalist for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in Montreal. He’s covered everything from provincial elections to the Lac Megantic train derailment, which killed 47 people. As a video journalist, he shoots, writes and edits his own stories.
