Why “intersect?” Because we defy boundaries and love bringing ideas and people together. We help our clients define their creative vision, and bring it to life with seamless shoots and artful post-production. Recently we’ve been on location in Colombia, Ethiopia, Ghana, Jamaica, Senegal and Rwanda for clients like Land O’Lakes and the MasterCard Foundation, and we are excited to see where our work takes us next. Intersect was founded by Shravan Vidyarthi, a filmmaker and photographer based in New York and his native Nairobi, Kenya. His documentaries have screened on PBS and at MoMA, appeared in The New York Times, and won awards at international film festivals. Shravan has broad experience in the developing world, and speaks English, French, Swahili and Punjabi.

It was a total pleasure working with Shravan. He and his team made a shoot in rural Kenya run almost as smoothly as a gig in our own backyard, and when last-minute obstacles did occur, he helped us work through them quickly and effectively. The footage his team delivered met our expectations and them some.

EcoPlanet Bamboo aims to convince major corporations like WalMart and IKEA to trade timber for ecologically-sustainable bamboo. Intersect helped EcoPlanet define its pitch—contrasting the deforested slopes of Vancouver Island with lush bamboo plantations in Nicaragua and South Africa—and make the case for many of bamboo’s potential uses. We produced the spots from beginning to end.
We were commissioned by Procter & Gamble to show how Always sanitary pads are changing the lives of young girls in Kenya. With access to affordable feminine health products, girls are able to stay in school longer. We mobilized a crew in Nairobi in less than 24 hours. Working in both English and Swahili, we produced and directed both video and stills.
