Fear between the walls
One in three women in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a victim of violence, and one in two over the age of 15 has experienced some form of psychological, economic or physical abuse, according to the Gender Equality Agency. And during the corona virus pandemic, domestic violence increased by about 50 percent. The largest increase in reported violence was recorded after a two-month lockdown, when the number of women seeking help at Safe Houses also increased.
