My name is Sofia Nitti and I'm an Italian journalist and camera-woman. I work for French, Italian and English-speaking media outlets. I film and take photos with a Sony Apha 7-III camera. I have been reporting for AFP, Altreconomia, ARTE tv, Cnews, France24, AGI (Agenzia Giornalistica italia), InsideOver, La Tribune de Genève, Libération, Goethe Institute, Xinhua, The New Arab and UNFPA. I held a Master's Degree from Ecole Supérieure de Journalisme of Lille, in France. Before moving to Iraq, I've been working as apprentice (contrat d'alternance) at France 3 Centre Val-de-Loire, in Orleans. I've learned to shoot with shoulder camera and hand-held camera, Sony 400 and 200. I filmed daily reports for TV journal of 12AM and 7PM (The daily TV journal of France 3). I also made live broadcasts with AviWest. During my internship at AFP in Lyon, I could confirm my interest in treating hot news, which requires speed, rigor and a good general culture. Working in regional and international editorials such as Euronews, Nice-Matin and France 3, I developed useful skills such as ability to quickly rebound and versatility in the topics I treat. Proactive and passionated, I can deal with many things at the same time, even under pressure. I've been living in France for 7 years and I am bilingual. I speak fluent English and intermediate Spanish and I study Arabic (intermediate) intensively.

ARTE Journal Junior - from Iraq
Claudia is 10 years old and lives in Bartella, a city in Northern Iraq close to Mosul. She had to escape because of the war against ISIS but was able to return home. Now she is a brilliant student and dreams to become a chef. I shot this portrait together with a French colleague, for French-German TV Arte Junior.

AGI (Agenzia Giornalistica Italia) - from Iraq
I have been working as a text and photo reporter for the Italian press agency AGI (Agenzia Giornalistica Italia) since January 2019. I cover several topics across Iraq and Iraqi Kurdistan, from society to economics to religion. In February I made a text and photo report about feminine genital mutilation in Iraqi Kurdistan and the action of NGO's and activists to fight this practice.

France 3 Centre Val-de-Loire - Skydiving champions
High flying show at the Loiret airport (in the central region of France), where the French skydiving team is currently training ... "Les Bleues" are vice-champions of the world of flying under sail. We met this explosive and determined team with my colleague Christelle Chapiotin. I shot this report on July 2018 during my apprenticeship at France 3 Centre Val-de-Loire.

France 3 - A photograph on the Loire river
I shot this report in August 2018 during my apprenticeship at France 3 Centre Val-de-Loire. With my colleague Christine Launay we met the photograph Jean-Claude Picard on a early summer morning. He is specialized in photographing fauna and Flora of the Loire valley. He conceived and built special shelters to hide inside, in order to approach the animals and photograph them without disturbing them.

Bibliocyclettes - 19/20 France 3 CVdL
I shot this report in July 2018, with my colleague Alain Heudes, during my apprenticeship at France 3. It's about an innovative initiative of the Loiret department (in the French region of the Loire valley), in order to promote reading among young people during the summer. Volunteers travel by bike and carry a wide variety of books, from which children can choose. Reading labs are also organized.
