A year left to finish a decade in Journalism, I have got the opportunity to execute different roles- as a reporter, a news producer and a news presenter across Television & digital platforms. Organisations that I have worked in the past are India Today, NewsX and Republic TV. Currently I am working as a correspondent and also a producer of Documentary films at News9 Plus, an OTT platform of TV9 network. Born and brought up in Durgapur, West Bengal, I completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Radio & Television Journalism from Indian Institute of Mass Communication in 2014. In the initial years of my career as a producer in India Today, I learnt the art of visual storytelling, which emboldened me to understand how visual medium can be far more powerful than mere words and can create far reaching impacts. Continuing this love for visual storytelling, I delved deeper into reporting at NewsX and Republic wherein I have carried out special Investigations to unearth the truth, reported upon political developments across the country and covered human interest stories. During my career, I have reported from the riot-hit Northeast Delhi in 2020, bringing out stories of hate politics, prejudice, and loss. I have carried out special investigation exposing the political hand behind the violence at Jamia Milia Islamia university during protests over the Citizenship Amendment Act. Also led the coverage during Lok Sabha polls 2019 in violence-hit West Bengal, wherein I uncovered the lack of ‘political will’ in curbing the poll violence in the state. In May 2018, Tuticorin killings had received national glare as the administration had failed to control the outrage over killing of innocent lives at the hands of local police. A special investigation was carried out by me to expose the criminal act of administration which led to the loss of several innocent lives. Currently, I report and produce Documentaries on various subjects from crime to politics to cultural trends. Some of my works include- 1.A documentary on how the Mewat region of Delhi NCR accounts of 54% of cyber crimes in India overtaking the infamous Jamtata in Jharkhand.
