Nino Magro is a French-Dutch documentary filmmaker. Growing up in the mountains of Chamonix, he started as an outdoor photographer capturing emotional connections to high alpine environments. His interest in social challenges were sparked by an expedition in Bolivia, where he discovered the social and environmental impacts of mining. Combining technical skills from the field with his curiosity of other people’s way of seeing the world, he seeks to explore conflictual situations related to social transition, giving his audience emotions rather than information, and enabling them to gain empathy to a party they do not necessarily agree with.
