About

Hi, my name is Nick Clausen and I am a digital filmmaker from St. Paul, Minnesota. I started working in television news 20 years ago, and now I shoot and edit documentaries. Stories that are meaningful to me usually have a social element to them. I'm currently following a light-rail construction project that is tearing apart a neighborhood in Saint Paul. Coming from a news background there is a freedom to creating my own documentaries: it gives me time to tell a story in-depth, and allows me to create an intimacy with my characters, so in return, the audience will connect with the characters as well.
