This short documentary premiered as a finalist at the 2022 Austin Film Festival. Charles Umlauf was a bronze sculptor whose work spanned multiple mediums, scales, and subject matters. What makes his body of work so singular and captivating, however, is its many contrasts and contradictions—its dualities. Love and hate, light and dark, sacred and profane. Umlauf was interested in the entire breadth of human nature while imbuing all of his work with enormous compassion and affection.
At the end of 2021 I partnered with Hacker Valley Media to help them celebrate their Webby nomination as the best technology podcast in the world. In crafting this short spot we sought an athletic visual language to portray their authentic sense of style and energy.
In partnership with Axonius, Hacker Valley launched the season 1 of their new webseries Technically Divided. Exploring divisive topics within tech and cyber, we filmed each episode in a different location across Dallas and Austin, TX. As the show’s director and producer this series offered exciting new opportunities to explore visual storytelling. Most notably our work was recognized by the 2nd annual Anthem Awards for addressing issues around artificial intelligence.
Hacker Valley partnered with their sponsor Axonius to launch the first season of their new talk show Technically Divided. The Future of Identity was a digital launch campaign for AKA Identity, taking viewers on a journey through one of the most complex and challenging problems in IT and cybersecurity.
