In Senegal, deforestation and rising temperatures have exacerbated the process of desertification, turning 150 square miles of forested area into deserts every year. Alimatou Badji leads a women’s collective to fight this problem one garden at a time. Watch as we follow her to remote villages, where she uses specific planting patterns to enrich the soil and stop the desert in its tracks.
This is the first project I made with a collegue, Arne Gillis. I went to Haïti and made a documentary about ' 5 years after the earthquake'. Instead of trying to look for the misery we searched positive stories, stories about people who are working for a better future.
