Request QuoteStefan Verna is a graduate from Concordia University's Film Production program. He has been active in the Montreal film community as a Director, Cameraman, Editor and & Video Instructor to marginalized youth. Drawn to cinema via political activism, Stefan Verna quickly realized that making films could be an agent of transformation around issues such as social justice, food security, culture and sports. His deep interest in Hip Hop culture and dance has fueled the type of projects he has pursued. As a director he has explored various filmmaking forms: documentary, fiction, music videos and dance films. His camera work has taken him to Nunavik, Cuba, France, Haïti, Mexico, Bénin, Mali and the U.S.A His videos have been shown on AJ+, CBC Newsworld, APTN, Canal D, Bravo, Canal Evasion and 60Second Docs. Stefan is perfectly fluent in English, French and Haitian Creole with elementary skills in Spanish. He is very comfortable traveling and filming as a one-man crew in tough environments but in more corporate settings. He is a founding member of Black on Black Films, a collective of Black filmmakers in Quebec, and has been lecturing around the world about the history & aesthetics of Black Cinema for the last 5 years.

In the wake of the anti-Islam sentiments following the Paris attacks a Montreal woman, Danielle Létourneau starts an initiative to knit 25 000 tuques for the incoming Syrian refugees arriving in Canada this winter. In a span of a few weeks the initiative spreads to several communities in Canada and has given a voice to those who want to welcome the arrival of the Syrians families.
