Invisible labourers was a four-year long project implemented by the Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa (SIHA Network) and it targeted women working in the informal sector in Sudan such as tea and food sellers, domestic workers, petty traders and handicrafts makers.
In the midst of rising global and regional emergencies such as Iraq, Syria and Libya, Darfur’s crisis has somewhat gone under the radar. As Darfur enters its 13th year of conflict the objective is to bring back attention to the Children of Darfur. Some 1.9 million children are displaced countrywide, of which 1.5 million are in the Darfur region.

Mansour, one of the two lions in especially critical condition, seems to be responding positively to the therapy which was started after his medical examination performed by Dr. Frank Goeritz, the FOUR PAWS team together with local vets. Like Kandaka, Mansour is looking much better and was eagerly waiting for his meals. The team is very pleased with the response of the animals to the treatment and their unstoppable will to survive.
