About

Through an extensive career in international film ; and television, I have been fortunate to combine my love for storytelling with her passion for discovering the world. I have traveled to nearly 70 countries, producing in more than 40 as well as working extensively throughout the United States. I work independently, in the studio system, on feature films, documentaries, as well as network & cable programming; from development through to delivery. My experience in the field and post, conducting interviews, directing, as well as shooting, has culminated in hundreds of hours of non- fiction programming for ABC, AMC, CBS, NBC, A&E, Animal Planet, Audience Network, DIRECTV, Discovery, Discovery Asia, History, and the Paramount Network. I broke into the world of television at The Amazing Race, where I spent seven seasons. During that time, I worked across six continents and 18 countries. Along the way, I earned two Emmy awards. Some of my other credits include Religion of Sports, Ice Cold Gold, Ax Men, The Colony, BullRun, Kid Nation, America’s Toughest Jobs, and The Big Time. I am currently in post-production on the independent documentary, Ready to Run, that followed nine women across the country running for office for the first time in the 2018 US mid-term elections. I have lived and worked in the vast, remote wilds around the world, from Patagonia to the Arctic Circle. In addition, I’ve filmed in challenging environments across the United States, from the high ranges of Alaska; the top of El Capitan, the dense forests of Oregon, Washington, and Montana; the swamps of Louisiana; the flatlands of Texas; to the Bering Sea. Internationally, I have worked & traveled across Africa, Australia, Central & South America, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and throughout Europe. I spent many months in Sri Lanka assisting in relief efforts after the devastating Indian Ocean tsunami, which led to my directorial debut Anatomy of a Disaster, for Discovery Asia & the United Nations. This documentary looks at rebuilding progress in the hardest-hit regions of Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, India, and the Maldives. Before venturing into television, I concentrated my efforts in feature films, most notably at Pierce Brosnan’s production company, Irish DreamTime. I was actively involved in the successful studio remake of ‘The Thomas Crown Affair’ as well as the company’s independent features including ‘Evelyn’ and ‘The Nephew’ (both set & shot in Ireland). I have also worked at New Line Cinema and 20th Century Fox. I began my career as a freelance writer and photojournalist. I spent time in New York City at HEALTH magazine before moving back to my hometown of Chicago where I worked with the highly acclaimed Chicago International Theatre Festival, under the direction of Jane Nicholl Sahlins and her husband, Second City founder, Bernie Sahlins. I hold a Master of Fine Arts, specializing in Cinematography, from the American Film Institute, and degrees in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Kentucky. When not working, I am active in various community-based programs. I recently realized a long-standing dream by completing the 500-mile pilgrimage from St. Jean Pied de Port, France, across the Pyrenees Mountains, to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. I currently split my time between Portland, Oregon, and everywhere interesting projects lead.
