CRYSTAL BENCHMARK AUDIO Storytelling Through Sound ​ A Bit About Me ​ I'm Henry Ley, a Location Sound Recordist, Sound Designer and Music Composer from Buckinghamshire, South East England. I started playing guitar when I was 5 and I honestly can't remember a time I wasn't making too much noise! At aged 15 I began working as children's party DJ, started a few radio stations including my school's and began recording myself, local bands and anything I could get my ears on. I had always been a student of film, but it was not until my early 20's that I married my love of sound and moving picture. I began working in sound design and on short films where I built an understanding of storytelling with audio, but I was itching to get on set. From the first project I ran location sound for, I knew I was addicted. Now I'm lucky enough to split my time between shooting and mixing a huge variety of content, from corporate ads and charity spots to feature films, documentaries, live music and of course short films. My basis in sound design came in very handy when an actor friend of mine asked me to design him a Voice Over Reel. As soon as I tried it I was hooked and I now work with voice over artists around the world to hone their recording process and produce a variety of exciting reels to sell their wonderful talent.
