About
I am an award-winning multimedia journalist and producer. I have worked throughout Latin America, speak fluent Spanish and am a former Fulbright scholar in Ecuador.
I love telling stories whether it's with words, pictures or video. I am available to shoot anything from news assignments and profiles to features and short documentaries. I am a problem solver and work well with people.
My storytelling tools include a Panasonic G9 4k video camera, a DJI Osmo, a DJI Mavic drone, a Canon HF G50 and a Hero7 Go Pro; Sennheiser wireless mics, a Deity shotgun mic, Fotodiox lights and other gear.
I have a strong journalism background. I headed Dallas Morning News bureaus in Mexico and Cuba from 1994 to 2005. I investigated corruption and organized crime in Mexico and along the U.S.-Mexico border, and covered the fighting in Afghanistan after the Sept. 11 attacks.
I've been awarded four Pulitzer Center travel grants - three for work in Cuba, one for a project in Bolivia.
I travel to Cuba regularly. In 2015 and 2016, I assisted NBC’s Nightly News, led by Lester Holt, with its coverage in Cuba.
I also produce videos for businesses and non-profit organizations, including Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida.
