About
A Philadelphia native, David graduated from Fordham University in New York with a BA in Communication, later completing an MBA at Pepperdine University in Los Angeles.
Recently, he has developed original program formats and scripts for streaming content. Birth of the Teen Series is a documentary with comedic elements written and produced for Shout! Factory TV. The six-part short-form program examines teen TV throughout the decades. Individually themed episodes play interstitially or together in sequence as a featurette. For Shout! Factory, David also developed an original special celebrating the classic The Carol Burnett Show.
Early formative experiences provided David with a foundation in "broadcasting 101." One was developing and hosting a weekly show on 89.1 WYBF-FM, a Philadelphia area radio station. The Alternative Comedy Hour combined alternative rock with classic comedy recordings and originally produced content. Another was going undercover on a series of investigative reporting projects in Philadelphia with the team at WCAU-TV 10 (NBC) and Herb Denenberg, a leading consumer advocate and TV personality.
However, David's first professional role in television began as a teen, performing for three seasons on Nickelodeon's classic sitcom The Adventures of Pete & Pete, which grew a worldwide audience.
Behind the camera in Los Angeles, David gained vital knowledge on the producing teams of the unscripted series Celebrity Fit Club (VH1) and 99 Most Bizarre (TLC). Supporting casting director Allison Jones, he was assigned to scripted projects, including the Disney feature Sky High, HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, and NBC's The Office.
As a marketing consultant for an Omnicom Group agency, David provided brand education for Samsung Electronics. He regularly traveled and exhibited products at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
David has an eclectic blend of improvisation training and credits his practical resourcefulness to having watched the original MacGyver religiously during childhood.
