Nakagin Capsule Tower, which was built in 1972 by Kisho Kurokawa, used to be one of the most leading architecture in the world. The architect was a philosopher of "metabolism" that is about regarding architecture from organic point of view rather than inorganic. Now the most famous building of metabolism is on the verge of being torn down as it got "too old" while some people works to save it.
Taiji, the famous town for dolphin hunting in Japan is struggling with harsh criticism made by the documentary "The Cove", trying to seek for alternatives with contradiction. I was commissioned by Yahoo! News Japan to make journalistic documentary about this topic when Taiji got out of JAZA in the early summer 2015.
“In The Eyes Of Children” is inspired on my visit to Ritsona Refugee Camp, Greece during the summer of 2016. It's about a Greek photographer helping children of the camp not only by going to the camp everyday, but also by screening movies every week. Among many documentaries and reports of the refugees, I had a desire to make one that told the story from a new perspective.
We made this short film about The Meguro Stars - A top tier Senior Baseball Team in Tokyo, Japan in December 2016.
We came up with the orignial idea, researched it, found a school, pre-produced it, then coordinated with the school to produce the video, liaisoned with the Japanese Unicycle Assoc to fact check everything. Then we scripted, and color-graded. (although AJ+ darkened it down afterward). We shot with Sony FS5, Ronin and EasyRig plus b-cam RX100
We produced and shot this video, including the drone work for Great Big Story in Tsugaru, Japan region.
