Request QuoteI am Norwegian born, based in Latin-America, working freelance with photography, video, radio and text. I have been living in Latin-America for the last twelve years working on projects related to social movements, both urban and rural, indigenous people and on music and culture connected to social and political change. I finished my master degree in Latin-American studies in June 2014. Through 2014 until January 2016 I was based in Brazil working with farmers and indigenous movements. Right now my base is Guatemala. I travel between mostly Guatemala, Brazil, Mexico and Norway for work. I write in Norwegian, Spanish and English.

The story of the Indigenous people Guarani Kaiowá is full of violence, abuse, but also of resistance and struggle. Guarani Kaiowá call the situation they live in as a "silent genocide". In Norway, we have to listen to this for two main reasons. Norway imports 85 percent of our consumption of soya from Brazil while we are the largest contributor to organizations of indigenous peoples in Brazil.

In Guatemala female break-dancers and rappers gather to deal with violence and a patriarchal society - and to make each other stronger. The Guatemalan rapper Rebeca Lane use her position and talent to bring more girls up on stage to express themselves. Lane's rap reflects her background as an activist speaking out against social issues such as as gender equality, poverty, and violence.

On November 5, 2015, the Fundão dam in Brazil burst. Nineteen people were killed, villages completely destroyed and 600km of the Rio Doce was left dead. But, two months after the accident, there were almost a complete silence. We traveled along the 600km river talking to people working and living along the river. Out of the silence emerged innumerous histories.
