Bill Hays is a photographer, videographer, musician, commercial multi-engine instrument rated pilot and a 14 CFR Part 107 UAS (drone) pilot and flight instructor. With Bill’s 25 years of experience in professional photography and videography and similar experience as a manned aircraft pilot, it was a natural move for Bill to become a drone pilot specializing in drone photography and videography with his preexisting intimate knowledge of FAA airspace, regulations, and culture. Bill has been a professional drone pilot since 2016. Bill was grandfathered into a Part 107 Certificate because of a Motion Picture and Television FAA 333 exemption he had previously obtained. Bill has at minimum 1000 hours of drone flight hours in challenging environments in part as him being a drone photographer for mega utility companies PG&E and SCE in California.
