Thor is a self-taught photographer, filmmaker, and participatory video and photography facilitator. Thor has worked in the American continent and Africa in projects where community needs are at the core. His experience spans from community conservation in the Gulf of California and Baja to using media for water conservation in the Pantanal. For over a decade, he’s been using video and photography to tell stories that matter. His work has allowed him to travel throughout Mexico, Central America, and over 20 countries in Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, and North and South America. Filming, photographing, and facilitating participatory media projects and experiences for WWF, Mares Mexicanos, CONANP, InsightShare, etc. Thor has devoted much of his career to supporting media initiatives in rural, urban, and indigenous communities in their quest for self-determination, autonomous narratives, and a better future for their territories and the environment. He has also published scientific articles on seabirds and coauthored books about ethnobiology, environmental history, waterbirds, and marine ecology.
