About
I'm a multimedia journalist and documentary filmmaker. I began my documentary career, at HBO Documentary Films, as a researcher and production associate on The Weight of the Nation, a four-part series on obesity. Since then, I've field-produced an investigative special for PBS and manage the post-production of web documentaries for Heredia Pictures. Prior to joining HBO, I was the arts and entertainment editor at Essence magazine. While at Essence, I launched their digital platform as the producer of the award-winning interactive multimedia packages. I have more than seven years of editorial work experience, with a proven track record of generating innovative story ideas, managing large-scale projects and ensuring the factual accuracy of high-profile stories on tight-deadlines. I'm interested in covering a variety of topics at the intersection of race, politics and social justice. I'm currently interested in pitching ideas to POV on Black male achievement/American Promise assignment.
