Katumba Badru Sultan is a freelance Photojournalist and a highly creative and detail-driven documentary photographer based in Uganda with key experience shooting in changing environments and sensitive situations with a strong love for street Photography. He is a Foundry and VII photos, Academy Fellow He holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communication from Makerere University where he was honored as the best Photojournalism student of the year 2016. He is also a certified sports photographer from FISU academy in Taipei city of Taiwan. Nominee Austria Alfred Fried Photography Awards 2017. Overall winner of Uganda Press Photo Award 2019 Notable projects include; Following 300km from Tororo to Kampala with pilgrims on their way to Namugongo for a series titled “Don’t Joke with Faith" , and struggles with plastic waste and recycling in Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya for a series titled “My Trash Your Trash". Most recent series, about the courage of men and women who slept in the markets during the Covid 19 lockdown, is widely published. His work has been published widely in Vogue, Lemonde, Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, New York Times, The Star, London standards, etc.
