Women and Politics in northern Nigeria
The documentary tells the story of a woman who attempted to run for political office in northern Nigeria, this the position is reserved exclusively for men due to the culture and beliefs of the people from core northern Nigeria.An award-winning photojournalist for over ten years, Mrs. Augie-Kuta won Creative Artist of the Year at the 2011 Future Awards, British Council Through My Eyes Project in 2014, and the Sisterhood Award for Photographer of the year – also in 2014.in 2015 Aisha ran for political office in Kebbi state for the seat of the House of Representatives the lower house of the Nigeria parliament, the first woman to attempt to occupy that office from the Augie /argungu federal constituency, she also is the first female to hold the seat of the Adviser to the Kebbi state governor.
