Reinhard Heinisch (PhD, Michigan State) is Professor of Comparative Austrian Politics at the University of Salzburg. Previously, he taught at the University of Pittsburgh from 1994 to 2009, where he last served as Professor of Political Science and UPJ Director of International Studies..His main research interests are centered on comparative populism, Euroscepticism, political parties, the radical right and democracy. His research has appeared in journals such as Party Politics, West European Politics, Democratization, Representation, Comparative European Politics, as well as Politics and Religion among many others. His latest book publication, an edited volume, is titled The People and the Nation: Populism and Ethno-Territorial Politics in Europe (Routledge 2019). Since 2009 he is an affiliated factory member of the University of Pittsburgh European Studies Center and he regularly teaches at the School of International Politics at Renmin University in Beijing China.
