I am an Indian journalist currently working in Kabul, Afghanistan, focusing on news stories from the Af-Pak region. But since come from a background in development—I have a postgraduate diploma in human rights and have a few years working with NGOs—I rather enjoy telling stories of struggles and resilience, more than I like breaking news. I moved to Kabul about a year and half ago looking for such stories to tell. Everyone assumed, and often still do, that I came to Afghanistan for war reporting. But I actually came here to find post-conflict stories of rebuilding and development. Having worked majorly in the online media, I specialise in digital and multimedia storytelling. Over the last six months, I have been working as a freelance journalist contributing to news publications including Huffington Post, Catch News and dna.
