Juan David Romero is a Paris-based filmmaker, journalist, and multimedia professional with a focus on human rights. He directed Unbroken Paradise, An Iraqi Belly Dancer, and Black in Ukraine, documentaries showcased at global festivals like the Global Impact Film Festival, Amnesty International's Human Rights Film Festival, and Tunisia's Mawjoudin Queer Film Festival, the only LGBT festival in North Africa. Currently, he leads multimedia operations at That’s Y Media and serves as lead video editor for the Civil Liberties Union for Europe. His past roles include video work with Médecins Sans Frontières and the United Nations Office of the Victims' Rights Advocate. Romero’s background includes journalism and video production with Brut, refugee aid in Europe, and work with the American Association for the Advancement of Science. A University of Central Florida alumnus, he holds a B.A. in English Literature with a minor in Film and has published poetry in several literary magazines.
