I was commissioned to interview three characters living on the Japanese island of Okinawa. Conducting all interviews in Japanese, I researched the unique value of each character--a karate master, an independent hotelier, and a master potter. The interviews were all done within 24 hours, and were received well by the client and other stakeholders, including the subjects of the interview.
I was commissioned to reach out to, meet, and interview a number of players in Korea's social innovation and startup ecosystem. Four articles emerged from the two-day trip. Meetings were arranged from the moment we landed in Seoul, and carried on all day and the following day, just before we left for Tokyo. The articles were well received, and led to follow-up collaborations in Tokyo.
I pitched an article on the Nobel Prize-winner Dr. Kajita of Tokyo University. I interviewed all the protagonists and delivered the copy to the expected standard.
