Request QuoteI am a Middle-Est politics specialist, involved in a PHD in French "Ecole des Hautes études en sciences sociales", on North-East Syria evolution since the beginning of the war. I spend half of my time between Irak and North Syria. Before the PHD, I worked on Iraki politics as a political analists for two years, studied in Lebanon, and had a journalist experience in Egypt. I am also writting and filming documentary movies, experimenting fiction writting as weel. I love to share what I get to know about the region I study, through personnal stories and lively situation. This work is my first movie. I made it during my workshop at the "Ateliers Varan". I went filming in a former high school occupied by 800 migrants, in 2015, in Paris. There I met with a group of Afghanis, and a sociologist who was starting a field research on how the neighborhood would react to the presence of these news neighbors. She, as many others, also got emotionnaly very involved.
I am vice-president of the association "Lève les yeux!" ("Raise your eyes!") working on raising awarness of the general public on the abusive use that we make of our smatphone and how we tend to live behind screens. The French revue "Project" asked us to participate in a special issue questionning the links between internet and activism. We wrote this article with six hands.
In 2015, the Iraki Kurdistan region was dealing with a very important number of people arriving from ISIS areas, specially around Mossul, adding to the refugees already arrived from Syria since a couple of years. With a photographer, I went to several camps and heard the stories of people who knew they would never be able to go back to their land, because what they left was now gone.
