Last winter, our favorite 111 ambassadors, Stein, Erich, Thor and Rafael, followed in the footsteps of their idol, Jeff Johnson, and attempted to summit and ski down Corcovado in Chile. Their short film follows the friends as they navigate trials and tribulations of extreme mountaineering in pursuit of spectacularly unrivaled views and the downhill ski of a lifetime.

‘The Line’ Episode 1 features alpinist and Nat Geo photographer Cory Richards as he prepares to tackle a new route on Everest. It dives deep into who Cory is and what led to him to setting this daring and dangerous goal for himself. In ‘The Line’ series, we look at the training, psychology, and routines associated with the goal of creating a new line on the world’s tallest peak. We also look at Cory’s outlook on life and how he is using climbing as a platform to talk about mental health. “When you’re riding the line between life and death, the clarity is tack sharp,” Cory says.

In ROAM’s newest original, “The Big One,” professional surfer Ian Walsh joins a team of Professional Snowboarders including Danny Davis, Nick Russell, Forrest Shearer, Harry Kearney, Jerry Mark, and Clark Henarie as they attempt to summit and ride down Denali, something none of them have done before. Danny Davis, widely recognized as one of the most influential snowboarders of his time, makes him the perfect companion for the trip. With a life dedicated to moving through the mountains, Nick Russell is all about riding in the backcountry to seldom-visited lines. And at the forefront of self-powered backcountry freeriding and splitboard adventures is Forrest Shearer. Together the team relies upon shared knowledge, bringing surf and snowboard culture to the top of North America’s tallest peak.

Vasu Sojitra and Pete McAfee are not the first adaptive athletes to climb Alaska’s 20,310-foot Denali, but on June 30, 2021, they claimed the first disabled descent on skis. With a four-man film crew and 1,000 pounds of gear between the six of them, including both athletes with amputated right legs, the team slogged 150- to 200-pound sleds up the 13,000-foot West Rib route. They endured heavy, wet snow with temperatures as low as -30°F, and summited in whiteout conditions with a narrow weather window.
