Rafig Gurbanzade is the Chief Washington Correspondent for CBC TV. As a political reporter, Rafig reports on the White House, the State Department, the Pentagon, the U.S. Congress, World Bank and DC-based think tanks. Over two decades in journalism, with about a decade of U.S. experience, Rafig has deep roots in local, national and international reporting and got his start in news by writing and voicing essays for local TV broadcasting channels. He has a thematic focus on foreign policy, world economics, macroeconomics, US-Russia relations, US-Turkey, US-Iran and regional focus on Eurasia, the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
