Request QuoteI’m a documentary filmmaker, producer and photographer currently based in Portland, Oregon. Previously, I was a video producer at The Oregonian and Blue Chalk Media in Portland and before that, I worked on the photo desk at the Chicago Tribune. I received my Master’s in photojournalism from Ohio University, where I also taught several courses. In undergrad, I studied photography and art history in my parents’ hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. My love for photojournalism began early – when I claimed my grandfather’s piles of National Geographic magazines that he hoarded in his trailer in Kentucky after he passed away. As a perpetually curious person, I read endlessly and ask a lot of questions. Whether through films or photographs—my aim is to promote critical thinking, understanding and respect. I'm most drawn to making work that examines how environmental and economic changes affect marginalized or indigenous communities. I'm currently producing films for several NGOs that deal with issues related to women and children’s healthcare and education in India. My partner and I recently launched our collaborative production company, Stray Dogs (aptly named after our favorite animals in India). Check it out at www.straydogsmedia.com. I am available for assignments — and for chats.

I worked with the India-based NGO Dream a Dream for the second time in 2019 to create four one-minute short films about four young people who have benefited from Dream a Dream’s programs and are becoming key players in the organization. They are Yashika, Aniruth, Chinnapa and Lekha. The videos were released and screened in anticipation of their annual event called Change the Script, a gathering aimed at building a supportive community of leaders from all over the world to serve Dream a Dream’s mission of empowering young people from vulnerable backgrounds. The event aims to scale the impact from 100,000 to 160,000 young people growing up in adversity in India.
I worked with Blue Chalk Media and Blue State Digital to help create a film for CARE International, that tells the story of the nonprofit’s success in improving the maternal health of women and babies in Bihar, one of India’s poorest states. Our team spent 10 days in Bihar, capturing the work of the government departments, nurses, front line health workers and medical officers who have come together to redefine maternal health outcomes for thousands of mothers and babies throughout the state.
