About
I'm a Chicagoan with a degree in journalism from the University of Illinois. I moved to Brooklyn in January 2013 to work as an assistant to former CNN/MSNBC President, Rick Kaplan. Last February I helped Mr. Kaplan launch a music news show on Fuse TV. Now I would like to pursue a more active role in journalism. I dedicated my college years to learning the many sides of video production, so I can become an effective storyteller. I learned the most outside the classroom by taking on independent projects. I discovered my passion for long-form video storytelling by producing three half-hour documentaries, one of which was produced in Turkey. I hosted, associate produced, and reported in this documentary called, "Illinois Travels to Turkey." The documentary aired on Chicago's PBS station, and it also won a Silver Pillar at the 2013 Mid-America Emmys. I can edit, write, shoot, interview, and produce, and I'm eager to improve my storytelling one story at a time.
