Rita Mawuena Benissan | Artist Installation Film
Rita Mawuena Benissan is an artist and historian whose practice delves into the royal umbrella which is transformed from an object into a subject for dialogues within the preservation and honouring of Ghanaian Heritage. During her first solo show at Gallery 1957 she exhibited an array of works ranging from royal umbrellas to tapestries stools and totems.
