Dynamic multimedia journalist, segment producer and TV contributor. I enjoy covering stories about underrepresented communities and highlighting social justice issues both locally and abroad. As such, I've covered the campaign to raise the age of criminal responsibility from 16 to 18 in NY, which earned an award from the National Association of Black Journalists for best radio feature on a network. I've also covered anti-violence in NY, focused on the Brooklyn-based GMACC (Gangstas making astronomical community changes) which works with gang-affiliated youth to provide alternatives to violence; and community efforts to give people in food desserts healthy food options through aquaponics farms (Oko Farms) and cooking programs in Brooklyn (NEBHCO). Internationally, I've covered efforts to combat Trinidad and Tobago's surging murder rate through a youth spoken word program called the Roots Foundation.
