The Branding of Liqian
The residents of Liqian are known for their appearance which is rather un-Chinese. In the 1940s a Chinese History professor suggested that they may have Roman lineage dating back to 36 BCE. However the DNA tests were unable to confirm the connection. But that hasn't stopped the town from building itself up as a Chinese-Roman wonderland for the tourists.
