Barry Clifford and his team uncovered and verified a 300 year old mystery off of Cape Cod in the early 80s. The sunken pirate ship known as the Whydah, led by Captain Sam Bellamy, sank off the coast during a Nor Easter in 1717 along with all its pirate treasure, weapons, and other artifacts. The search continues to this day and Barry himself is still fully involved in the research.
