Available as Director of Photography/Camera Operator/Lighting Director. I have an extensive background in shooting film and digital formats, both in fiction and nonfiction genres. I started my career from the ground up in Austria in 1978 and came to live and work in NY in 1997. I am not affiliated with any union, agency or political party. As my first language is German, many of my clients and projects are too. I am a legal permanent resident of the US, with an Austrian passport. I do great hand/shoulder held work, every flavor between shaky and steady, I am prepared to be a subordinate operator in case higher powers are in charge but I am also willing and able to take charge as a DP myself. I love to light spaces and people, cater to their vanities, very often to the delight of clients and subjects alike. I call it ‘gentle realism’. Also, I enjoy working with/helming a crew; I don’t push people around - on the set my motto is, “we’re all responsible and consenting adults.”
