My bi cultural upbringing between Mexico City and London inspired my curiosity for social and cultural issues from a young age. I read Social Anthropology at the London School of Economics, specializing in Visual Anthropology. In 1997 I returned to Mexico where I was quickly hired by the BBC bureau to cover Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Initially I was a tv and radio producer and then I received training to work as the bureau's camerawoman and editor for the region. News was a great school but I wanted to work on longer formats to get a more in depth look at the important issues. I used my field experience to springboard into documentary and spent 10 years working as a local field producer for international broadcasters: BBC, Discovery Channel, History Channel and ABC Australia. Twenty years into my career I became a correspondent. I have been working on medium format pieces focusing on social and environmental issues relevant to the Americas region. These have been commissioned by the Americas Now segment of CGTN America. My passion for social, cultural, environmental issues; my innate gift for connecting with locals from every walk of life; my ability to gain access; my in depth knowledge gained from decades of covering the region, have all come together to give me the tools to be able to tell the important stories the region has for an international audience.
I worked on CGTN's Game Changer series for 3 years finding new and inspiring characters who have made unique contributions to the lives of others. In a world full of negative stories about the state of our planet, this is a positive story about someone who found a way to make Game Changers for the planet's future. It is an inspiration for any world audience.

I secured one of the few one-to-one interviews that Yalitza gave in 2019 and asked her about her journey, her hopes, and fears, discrimination and her future.
As the Me Too Movement unfurled in varying and unexpected ways around the world, I followed up on how it had developed in the context of Mexico's culture, best known for being macho. I spoke to men and women and carefully navigated between the different opinions and experiences I found to try to be as objective as possible on this delicate and personal issue that offers little middle ground.
This is a piece about a largely undocumented segment of the workforce, without whom the life of the privileged would be quite different. As the Oscar winning Director of Roma, Alfonso Cuaron, appealed to the world to recognize this sector, I looked at what different sectors of Mexican society are doing to promote domestic workers' labour rights.
Mexico City's airport has long been a political hot potato. While most people fought over the economic and political implications of what was due to be one of the largest airports in the world, I looked at the environmental impact the construction would have on the region. The intention was to tell a story that would resonate with other mega projects in the region for our international audience.
As Trump's policies further swamped the airwaves with images of the suffering and uncertainty of migrants, I wanted to tell an unexpected story to offer our audience a surprising side to deportation measures. This is an unlikely story about how a certain community are now "Dreaming in Mexico".
