About

I am an emerging independent filmmaker based in South Africa, who trained who trained at the South African School of Motion Picture for four years and has worked extensively in the local film, television and commercials industry. I have written and directed several short films, including City of Ashes, a post apocalyptic sci fi set in the inner city shell of a dystopian Johannesburg and God Dank vir Klank, a mockumentary of the South African music industry loosely based on Die Antwoord. I have traveled for several years across Europe, Asia and Latin America with my camera always firmly in hand. I am most passionate about stories that reveal new ways of thinking or expose previously repressed dialogues. I hunt for character driven pieces about ordinary people making a felt social impact. I take particular interest in African dialogues and cultural narratives that recognize Africa as place of rich and complex conundrums.
