I am a journalist with over eight years of experience. I have spent the past seven years in Africa working in production and broadcast TV.  I have reported and written for CGTN Africa, covering stories in East and West Africa.  I am passionate about interacting with cultures and bringing stories to life. 

Stanley Okonye, joined the Africa Desk of TRT World in November 2017 as a Planning Producer. He is an accomplished Television News Producer and newsroom manager. He worked with some of the major television stations in Nigeria including TVC News where he played a role in the startup of the local station in 2007 as the first News Editor and newsroom manager. He also contributed to the takeoff of the International arm, TVC News Africa in 2012 where he managed the Output Desk overseeing the coverage of A list events on the continent including the Westgate Attack in Kenya and the burial of Nelson Mandela in 2013. He was a field producer for TVC News Africa at the Africa Union Summits in 2016 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and Kigali, Rwanda as well as the 2016 Ghana presidential election. He coordinated the coverage of 2011 and 2015 general elections in Nigeria for TVC News
