She got us the story, framed it the way we needed it to be told and was flexible when we need to make a few changes. She also delivered as promised.

Request QuoteHi there, My name is Rachel White, and I'm a hardworking journalist who aspires to make the world a more inclusive, better place through my work. I am prepared to work tirelessly to tell untold stories and to learn from those around me. I recently graduated with a master's degree from the Medill School of Journalism where I specialized in national security and social justice reporting as well as documentary filmmaking. My capstone documentary was nominated for a Chicago/Midwestern Emmy award in the long form, nonfiction category. I recently won a college Emmy award for a show that I produced during undergrad in Cuba. I also previously reported for The Daily Collegian where I covered the Sandusky trial from inside the courtroom. I have reported for numerous outlets using broadcast, print and social media.

Enthusiastic and quick to respond, films well too. Still working on refining her skills but she is eager to improve and I will ask her to work with us again.
Here's my story from my trip to Havana. I am truly inspired by all of the Cuban people that I met and the bravery they showed by talking with me. The state of journalism in Cuba is very complicated, and the lack of freedom of speech is an issue facing every person living in the country today. If you have a few minutes, take a look.
Three years ago, Chicago closed half its public mental health clinics, a crucial source of care for low-income people, Blacks and Latinos. With a lack of other options, the Cook County Jail is known as the region’s biggest mental health care provider. Thousands of people with mental illness are housed there, often because of crimes of survival related to their illness.
The closing of six of Chicago’s 12 public mental health clinics in 2012 has become one focal point of this year’s mayoral race. Mental health advocates have protested the closings since they occurred. One group, the Mental Health Movement, staged a demonstration outside a mayoral debate last month and confronted Mayor Rahm Emanuel at an event in Wicker Park.
