After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Economics, Vinson moved to New York City in the late 1980s and has called it home ever since. He has filmed documentary-style profiles of non-profits, small businesses, creatives, and clients who want to share their wisdom with future generations (Legacy Videos). In 2014 he founded Mill City Profiles, his video production company dedicated to telling important personal stories using compelling moving images. Vinson studied video journalism at the Columbia University School of Journalism.

In 2015, I was commissioned by the arts non-profit, The Society of the Four Arts, in Palm Beach, FL, to document the inception of this new artist residency. Follow the journey of two women artists as they are guided by their teacher to discover new ways of making art.
Artist Sharon Louden edited a book entitled, “Living and Sustaining a Creative Life: Essays by 40 Working Artists,” but needed to raise money to support the book tour. This Kickstarter video raised almost $7,000 to help defray the cost of her 18-month, 62 city book tour across America.
