About
I was born in 1989, in a middle class family in Bangladesh. I studied computer science, before leaving my computer career to study photography at Pathshala South Asian Media Institute from 2010 to 2013, where I was also trained to produce and edit Audio-Visuals. I learnt photography from the masters like Morten Krogvold, Philip Blenkinsop, Max Pam, Asim Rafiqui and Shahidul Alam. I also worked under mentorship of Saiful Huq Omi for a year.
My works got published in National Geographic, Sky News UK, Trouw, Marie Claire Italia, Saudi Aramco World, Daily Mail UK, Sunday Times, Birding Asia, SAEVUS among others. I have also worked for The New York Times, Thomson Reuters Foundation, Save The Children, Channel 4, Human Rights Watch, Equal Rights Trust, Embassy of The Kingdom of Netherlands, European Union among others.
Currently I’m working as a Documentary photographer/cinematographer at a agency called “Counter Foto”. I also work as a contributor at Polaris Images and Thomson Reuters Foundation.
I’m working with Saiful Huq Omi in his mammoth documentary film project on Rohingya refugees around the world as an assistant producer and co-cinematographer.
