I'm a freelance multimedia reporter based in Mexico City. In January 2017 I took a gap year to travel across Asia and I wrote about it in my travel blog and the magazine Aire. Before that I was the head of AP Television in Mexico, where I covered the arrest, jailbreak and recapture of drug lord “El Chapo” Guzman, the death of Nobel laureate Gabriel Garcia Marquez and the mass disappearance of 43 students in the southern state of Guerrero. I also covered regional events such as the U.S. Embassy reopening in Cuba and Barack Obama’s visit to the island. Previously I had been a New York correspondent for EFE, the world’s largest news agency in Spanish. I was responsible for finance and stock exchange coverage. I also covered breaking news such as the Newtown shooting, Hurricane Sandy and the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
