My latest report, which I produced for BBC Arabic from Munich, Germany. Ahmad Al-Hawash is a young Syrian who sought refuge in Germany at the start of the war in Syria. Ahmad learned beekeeping from his father, and when he sought refuge in Germany, he brought this hobby with him and worked on developing it until he had his own apiary in the German city of Munich.
Just ten miles away from Yemen’s capital city, Dar al-Hajar is a manmade wonder that sits atop a mountain of rocks. Created by Imam Yahya in the 1930s, the palace was the summer home and royal residence for the then ruler of Yemen. The palace, which boasts traditional Yemeni architecture, is five stories high, has several balconies and its own water supply sourced from a deep well on the premises.
The war in Yemen has not only forced people to flee their homes in search of a safe haven, but has also made many businesses shut their doors.
The Saudi-led coalition bombings in Yemen may be aimed at the Houthi fighters, but many people have fallen victim to this war. Al Jazeera gained access to an area in the capital Sanaa and spoke to one family living through the air strikes.Al Jazeera's Gerald Tan explains. Subscribe to our channel
