Before moving to Yangon in September 2015 I worked at Channel 4 News, and the main focus of my reporting is humanitarian and human interest stories. I shoot on a Panasonic Lumix GH4 and edit on Adobe Premiere.

As Aung San Suu Kyi's landslide victory in Myanmar's elections was becoming clear, I sat in a tattoo parlour with Kyaw Say as he got the face of the Nobel laureate and democracy leader illustrated on his arm. His story, from refugee to successful businessman, and his joy at the election result, perfectly encapsulated the feelings on the street.

With just days to go until Myanmar's historic general election, and the residents of one village (and no doubt many more) were still battling for the right to vote. Only accessible via a two-hour walk down mud tracks, and by wading through three villages, the report tells the story of this battle through the eyes of one villager - a local nurse.

One group that continues to be forgotten, both during and after Myanmar's historic election, is the persecuted Rohingya Muslims. They are disenfranchised, kept contained in IDP camps or militarised villages, and are denied access to adequate food, education and healthcare. I travelled to the IDP camps for Channel 4 News to interview members of the community about their hopes for the election.

It is as dangerous as it is beautiful - hot air balloons ascending into the night sky, loaded with a car-sized crate carrying thousands of fireworks. Thousands of people venture to Myanmar's city of Taunggyi every year to watch the firework displays - but sometimes things go wrong... I filmed up close to catch the moments two balloons exploded too early, and create a package about the event.
