GABRIEL SERRA is an Award Director and Cinematographer. Originally from Nicaragua, Gabriel is now based in Mexico City but spreads his time working in the US, Mexico, and across Central America. He study journalism in Nicaragua and then cinematography in Mexico City in Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) from 2008-2015. He has worked as Cinematographer both in the premium documentary space and narrative features. Some of his recent work in this role includes EL TEMA (a docuseries about the climate crisis in Mexico), NIÑA FURIA (an HBO fiction series about Nicaraguans exiles in Costa Rica), and the award-winning documentary feature, RUSH HOUR. His features film as a director was EL MITO BLANCO. LILIANA, and two short documentary films for Tate Modern Museum. Most recently, he wrote and directed the Amazon Prime docuseries, GOOD RIVALS, nominated for the Emmys sport category and was the Dop for Tratado de invisible premierd and awarded at Guadalajara film festival
