Bethany Matta, a freelance multimedia reporter and videographer, lived and reported in Afghanistan for more than six years; covering a wide range of issues for both video and print. Her work has been published in a variety of outlets, including: Al Jazeera, Agence France-Presse, Wall Street Journal, AJ+, Global Post, IRIN, CNN, The New York Times, NPR, Afghanistan Analysts Network (AAN) and more. Bethany has also worked for organizations, including: ICRC, Human Rights Watch, Save the Children, Turquoise Mountain and Agha Khan Foundation. Bethany’s multimedia skills include: Write, shoot and edit until final delivery of product. Pre-production (storyboarding, planning, contracting colleagues, organizing meetings and setting up budgets) and post-production (compiling and organizing footage, interviews, script writing, and music).
