Request QuoteI began freelance camerawork in 1982 after 6 years as staff news cameraman at Channel 7 Melbourne, Australia. Over 30 years freelance I have worked on many diverse projects, from documentary single episode and series to cinema release feature films. I have just finished (Aug 2015) a documentary series for Arte TV France/Germany on Australia's Great Ocean Road. Standout past productions include two trips to Afghanistan for 'Dr Sarmast's Music School' (ABC Australia), 'Roads Less Travelled' and 'Six Degrees of Separation' series for Lonely Planet TV (Nat Geo). I own Sony XDCAM EX and GH4 camera equipment, comprehensive lighting and sound gear.
10x1hr series for the History Channel/Foxtel in commemoration of Australian and New Zealand roles in WW1.
Two series of 10x30mins each for History Channel/Foxtel. British historian and actor Sir Tony Robinson takes a light-hearted and often quirky look at Australia's historical minutiae in a series of walks around Australian towns and cities. Almost 100% hand held camera, minimal scripting and retakes!
This film describes the re-establishment of the Afghan National Music School after music was officially banned from Afghan society during Taliban rule. Approx. 50% of the students are 'street kids' of Kabul. I was fortunate, over 2 trips to Kabul, to document not only the school being rebuilt, but to observe the life of some of the children outside of school.
The 'Roads Less Travelled' series, produced by Lonely Planet TV, followed a Lonely Planet travel writer while exploring new, often extreme travel experiences in a given country. Filming the Cambodian episode provided me with my most extreme travel/filming experiences. Eg, crossing the forgotten Cardomom Ranges over six days on a convoy of ten mopeds. Hills, mud and jungle!
