Request QuoteI have worked for 5 years as a news assistant/researcher/fixer for clients such as McClatchy, Swiss TV, AFP, CNBC, and more recently as a producer for the BBC (2.5 years). I have fluent English ability (IELTS 7.5), standard Mandarin, and am a very confident communicator with people from all walks of life, from farmers to financiers. I have covered breaking news stories, as well as various 'sensitive' news items - riots in Xinjiang, arrests of dissidents - which demonstrates my ability to work both to deadline, and also under circumstances of considerable pressure. I recently won the BBC’s documentary fund grant in 2014 and self-directed a 30 minutes piece on members of the Chinese elite hiring Tibetan monk personal gurus, titled "When Wealth is Not Enough", which was shortlisted for the Asian Television Award(2015).

Poor rural children in China are sometimes talent scouted for Government athletics programmes, with the ultimate aim to create Olympic champions. These kids are then sent to specialist schools. The gymnastics academies, particularly, make for strong images. To become a champ requires gruelling daily workouts, focusing on flips, stretches, and body conditioning - equal parts cruel and spectacular.
From "Made in China" to "Designed in China" - a programme exploring China emergence as a high-tech powerhouse.
I have covered breaking news stories, as well as various 'sensitive' news items. Over the years working for different media outlet, I developed strong interest in features and documentaries. In 2014, my pitch of following Chinese elites taking Tibetan Buddhism gurus was one of three pitches which won BBC”s documentary fund.
